I never gave sprinkles much thought, or jimmies, as they are called here in New England. They are delicious on a vanilla soft serve cone and I keep a big jar in the pantry for my daughter Bella, who adores them. But recently I have seen recipes for cookies and cakes loaded with them. They are pretty and festive baked into a treat, though I have yet to try the homemade funfetti recipe I came across over the summer. I am more of a simple flourless chocolate cake kind of girl.
